What is a garden?

A garden means different things to many people. For the most part, it is where one prepares the soil , plants a seed, or seedling, and eventually , with some luck and care, will have a harvest , either meager or of some measure of success, 2 to 6 months , down the road. But, to me, it is much more.....

A garden is where a person can lose time, but gain soul. Where you can get your hands dirty and be happy about it. A place well time is never lost , but is always well spent, whether it shows itself as a success , or a learning experience, there is always a gain.

We started our garden very small, with the thought always in mind to expand. The initial was of several beds that stretched some 70 ft, mainly in line and all from re-purposed wood. The garden, over a 3 year period has now grown to include some 500 lineal feet of raised beds in different shapes, styles, heights and configurations.

I find , and there are many advantages to raised bed gardening, but first and foremost,  is that you take the worry of soil preparation out of the picture. As we have done for many customers, with-in 15 minutes from the start, you are often planted and finished. No digging. Just plop the raised bed where you will, level the top, fill it half full with brush , compost , sticks from yard clean up, top it with nice soil , than plant, water,... done.

    Let us show you how.
